CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the nations.  Believing a well-organized group of believers can transform their local community, we seek to develop each church to be effective in ministry and outreach, thriving in its own context for generations to come. Nazarene missionaries partner with local ministers and lay leaders to bring restoration, share the Gospel, and build sustainability within the community.

We are helping to support a sister church in San German, Cuba. Superintendent Leonel Jesús López Ortiz shares how God is moving in the island nation as churches are planted.

The Sister Church

SAN GERMAN, CUBA

The Newmarket Church of the Nazarene congregation has “adopted” a “sister” congregation in San German, Cuba. In addition to praying for this congregation, and for pastoral couple Armando and Deysi, we annually provide financial support to the pastor. Most Cuban churches are not able to pay their pastor more than $20 per month. We know that Cuban pastors have no other source of income since they are not allowed to work outside of the church.

OUR PURPOSE

Our purpose is fully realized when our churches have the knowledge to thrive.  Nazarene Missions helps facilitate training, teaching, and resourcing to support our local Nazarene churches around the globe.

Nazarene Missions is woven into the fabric of our identity as a holiness people and is funded through the generous, sacrificial giving of people and churches throughout the world.

Each local church

  • encourages people to pray for all efforts of world evangelism,
  • informs people of the world’s need and what the church is doing to meet those needs,
  • challenges children and youth to learn about, and participate in, the mission of the church,
  • and raises funds for missions outreach.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

We Pack ShoeBoxes! In support to the Samaritan’s Purse International Relief Canada. The boxes of love are assembled in our church and sent to be distributed to the poorest children of the world. Watch the video to learn more about this project.
